Brown Sugar Water Vanilla Extract Ground Cinnamon Salt Pepper Pecans

step 1

In a medium skillet, combine sugar, water, vanilla, cinnamon, salt and cayenne (if using). Stir to combine, then cook until mixture starts bubbling, about 1 minute.

Add the pecans, aggressively stirring until they’re completely coated in the glaze, about 2 to 3 minutes.

As soon as pecans look glossy, with no large visible clumps of sugar remaining, transfer them to a prepared baking sheet.

Once cool break apart then try not to eat them all!

If the nuts feel sticky once cooled, add 1-2 tablespoons water to the pan and cook them for another 2 minutes over medium heat.
