Reduce heat to medium-low; add the mackerel, along with 1/4 cup of the oil from the can. Stir, gently breaking up the fillets.

Toss until the pasta looks saucy and well coated. If it looks dry, add a small splash of pasta water or more of the fish oil from the can.
